At Least I Don’t Have An Ear Infection!

Lately I’ve been having a hard time standing up after I’ve been laying down for awhile. Going up stairs has been hard for me to do too.

So My Margret took me to see Dr. Bols this morning. I was kind of scared but My Margret petted me and talked softly to me and that made me feel better.

When Dr. Bols came in she called me a sweet girl and petted me for awhile. She gave me a really good back massage then she moved my back legs this way and that way and flexed my paws.

Then she and My Margret talked for a long time, so long in fact that I laid down and kind of dosed off.

My Margret and My Greg have known for several years that I have hip dysphasia and Dr. Bols said I now have developed arthritis in my back legs and hips which is making it hard for me to get up and down and climb stairs.

While it’s not going to go away I have a treatment plan in place that will hopefully help slow it down and make it easier for me to move. In the meantime I’m the boss and am to do what I can do until I tell them I can’t.

You all know right that My Margret can be pretty goofy, well I heard her tell my Greg all about it then she said “guess what, Belle didn’t have an ear infection!” If you’ve been following us for awhile you know that I’m the ear infection queen in our family. So yeah there is that! 🙄

  1. Congratulations, B. Not having an ear infection is a great accomplishment. It sounds like your Margret and the doctor have a good plan for you, so you can relax and live la vida loca while they give you medicine hidden in cheese or massage your legs or set you up with ramps to help you climb. You’re in good paws…. I mean hands.

    • Hi Cupcake! Yep I was pretty proud that I didn’t have an ear infection! My Margret says Team Belle is on the job! She sure embarrasses me sometimes. ~ nose nudges Belle Pup

  2. Our angel Lexi got hip dysplasia in just one hip from jumping off stuff like kitchen counters that she wasn’t supposed to be on. Acupuncture did wonders for her. We hope your plan gives you good results too, and no ear infections. Xox Lucy and Xena
