We (Almost) Are Teenage Kitties! ~ Gus Gus Kitty

Today we met Dr. Amber when we went to have our booster shots and rabies shots. We were loved on and told that we were good boys. I weigh 5.0lbs and Graham weighs 4.96lbs. I didn’t like having my temperature taken and told them so AND gave My Margret a side eye and Graham climbed up into her arms after his first shot. But overall we were chill. We get to call the shots when it comes to deciding when we want to be in the same room as our sister pups. My Margret was told she and My Greg were doing a good job helping all of us to get used to each other. She was given a couple of suggestions that they are happy to try. Oh and the most important thing at 4 months old we are now almost teenage kittens! ~ Gus Gus Kitty

Is The Coast Clear? ~ Graham and Gus Kitties

Is the coast clear? ~ Graham and Gus Kitties

Note: Greg had taken the pups out to play ball. They hadn’t even made it to the kitchen when the kittens appeared at the gate then immediately came into the living room and then on to the dining room where they were when Greg and the dogs came back in. The kittens hearing them slowly, slowly sauntered back to their kitten palace. Progress! ~ My Margret

Until Next Time ~ Gus and Graham Kitties

This morning in the living room while the Golden slept and the Terrier was relaxed but watchful we ventured in. We got about half way across the room when the pups started barking at us. I (Gus) went back into the kitten palace and I (Graham) went under the couch. My Margret waited for a couple of minutes to see what was going to happen (Just a lot of sniffing around) and then led the dogs out to their pup pen. She came back in calling “Graham where are you buddy?” I showed her that I had gone back out with Gus. She told us we were good boys and let the pups back in.
She said she would have waited longer to let us all work things out but she had to get ready for an appointment. Until next time! ~Gus and Graham Kitties.

Scruffy Barked… I Purred ~ Graham Kitty

In an effort towards helping my sister pup Scruffy continue to get used to me I got to hang out in her crate while she barked. It only took her a few minutes to realize that playing “find it”with her treats was more fun than barking at me. Eventually she laid down next to the crate and we both took a quick nap. What did I do while she was doing all of that you might ask?
I purred ~ Graham Kitty

Note: we are ever watchful of both Graham and Scruffy to make sure neither becomes stressed. Lots of good boy and good girl praise and Graham had treats in a bowl right next to him but he’s not sure yet if he really likes treats. Given time I’m sure that will change too.
We haven’t tried any of this with Gus as he prefers to maintain a distance from the loud barky sisters. Graham usually convinces him to join in when he’s not sure of something and we are confident in time that’s what will happen here too. ~ My Margret

Me? I’m Not Sassing Scruffy ~ Graham Kitty

Me? I’m not sassing Scruffy, I’m just sitting here minding my own business. ~ Graham Kitty

Note: Still a work in progress. We now leave the double doors open when we are home and the kittens have full access to the rest of the downstairs via the kitten door. For the most part they only venture in when the pups are not in the livingroom. It’s noteworthy that Scruffy doesn’t bark up a storm anymore every time she lays eyes on the kittens. A lady who works at our vet clinic said it took 4 months for her terrier to get used to her kittens. We’re coming up on 2 months and making progress even if it seems excruciatingly slow. ~ My Margret

My Really Big Sister Bea Pup ~ Graham Kitty

Yesterday I got to meet my really big sister Bea Pup nose to nose. She barked at me a little, gave her “I’m excited to see you” aroo sounds, sniffed me and play bowed at me before laying down at My Margret’s feet. I didn’t know what it all meant but My Greg and My Margret sure were happy. Oh and me? After the first few minutes I started to purr! ~ Graham Kitty
