Early morning snuggles are the best way to start the day. ~ Bea and Scruffy Pups

Lest things appear to be too perfect thought it was time to give a peek behind the scenes. Bea is our Covid/retirement pup and she doesn’t handle change well plus she’s on a maintenance med for a chonic health issue that contributes to anxiety.
Unknowingly we gave her a perfect storm. We were on vacation for 9 days and she and Bessie were well cared for, played with and loved on by a close friend of ours and her two boys. Bea has known them for most of her life and loves them.
So the storm started when we came home and as much as our Velcro pup loves us she missed seeing Megan and the boys. Then 5 days after we came home from vacation, family arrived for a family reunion. More fun and excitement, then that same night family arrived, two new four footed family members started living in the front room. Bea desperately wants to play with her new brothers but they are tiny and we are giving everyone time to get used to each other. To do that successfully takes longer than one would think.
The day we came home from vacation Bea and Scruffy realized there are moles under their pup pen and have spent a lot of time digging holes to try and find them.
All of that combined took Bea’s appetite away this week. She would eat treats but one cannot only eat treats as fun as that sounds. Finally after much trial and error, time, stress reduction and making a party out of mealtime Bea’s appetite started to come back yesterday. This morning’s breakfast was eaten with almost her usual enthusiasm. The kittens are doing great and getting used to their kitty palace (front room) the barking dogs no longer seem to bother them and the barking dogs aren’t barking at them as much. Bea and Scruffy have slowed down the mole surveillance and there are plenty of love and cuddles for all 5 of our furry family members.
Things are finally getting back to “normal/new normal”. Boy it’s been a week though! 🙄😂

Never underestimate the determination of eight week old kittens!

We are excited to get to know our kitty brothers. They aren’t quite as excited but My Margret says its going to take time because they’ve never met dogs before much less barky big ones. And let’s face it when you are 7 week old kittens everyone is bigger than you! ~ Bea and Scruffy Pups

A Terrier’s work is never done.
Whether it’s digging holes, (that one last night was pretty impressive if I say so myself!) Keeping watch over the new family members in the front room, and that new thing laying on the floor that My Margret says is a toy carrot. I’m not sure what that is but it didn’t move when I barked and barked and barked at it.
And lastly encouraging my sisters to bark “Getting to know you, hey let’s play! greetings” at the kittens. For some reason they don’t seem to like that. Well never fear I’ll keep trying!
~ Scruffy Pup

Our My Margret says our personalities are starting to come out. My brother Graham is the leader and is braver. While my brother Gus is more cautious but I’m helping him get over that. We like to roughhouse, go after fuzzy wiggly things (and growl when we catch them.) and play hide and seek, especially behind pillows. We run up to our My Margret and My Greg and ask them to pick us up, play with us and cuddle us. We are also learning our names of which there seem to be many. We are getting used to our sister pups barking hello at us although it can be pretty loud. We don’t run and hide anymore when they bark but just stay put and wait until they are done. The double doors to our kitten room stay mostly open except at night when we are sleeping. However the child gate in front of those doors stay firmly shut so we can see each other but not get close enough to touch. We still prefer it that way although our sisters seem to be happy to have us here. Did we mention they are big?!?

Mmm the tennis ball pillow it isn’t bad but I like my paws better. ~ Gus Gus Kitty

Oh good you’re still there! ~Gus Kitty

We’d like to introduce ourselves: (left) I’m Gus named for Gus the Theater Cat in CATS and (right) I’m Graham named for Moonlight Graham from Field of Dreams and graham cracker, either are correct.
We are brothers, littermates and buddies. We are 7 weeks old but think we are all grown up. We love to explore, climb, play and snuggle.
We heard our My Margret say something about meeting our new sister pups tomorrow after we get a little more used to our new home. We can’t wait to meet them, um what are pups?
Our My Margret and My Greg would like to thank Danny and Laura for giving us a good start and graciously letting us move on to our new adventure. Jessi, Phil, Katie, Aaron, and Ethan for helping them pick us out (hello facetime!) and bringing us to our new home. We even got to have a sleep over at their house where we met Rosie Kitty who gave us hissing lessons. That’s all for now. ~ Gus and Graham Kitties
