Belly and Ear Rubs at the Vet

My Margret took me to see my vet this afternoon. I don’t know why she didn’t understand that I needed to sit in the front seat of the car. How on earth was I supposed to keep an eye on things for her while sitting in the back seat! No matter how hard I tried she wouldn’t let me sit up front there or back home. She’s a stubborn one that My Margret!

When we got to the vet I was a good girl and did a very pretty graceful sit on the scale just in case anyone was watching. They weren’t.

But guess what! The nice girl who showed us to the room said I had a happy walk. Um…It would have been a lot happier if I could have walked right back outside! But My Margret kept saying it wasn’t time to go yet.

Dr. Bols came in and looked at my left leg that I had been licking over the weekend. She thinks I had a bug nibble on me that made me itchy. My Margret had given me some medicine that made me not so itchy anymore so it was getting better. While I was there I got my ears checked and yep I have an ear infection in my left ear. My Margret felt bad because she hadn’t see it. Everything looked good when she cleaned my ears out last week. She said that she wished I wouldn’t be so stoic, whatever that means, and would tell her when something doesn’t feel good. I told her I would try.

I really really like Dr. Bols she gives really good tummy rubs. After she swabbed out my ear (during which I glared at My Margret hard) she put in some medicine and rubbed my ear for at least a million minutes, ok maybe 5. But it felt so good that I leaned into her hand and she called me sweet girl.

Finally it was time to go home. Once there I told My Greg all about it and he kept calling me his Belle Puppy and cuddled with me for a long time until I felt better about everything. He’s good at that!

  1. Well, Jelly Bellie, if you had been up front navigating, you wouldn’t have ever gotten to the vet and got your ear problem taken care of. On the other hand, you might have gotten ice cream! XOX ~Xena

  2. Mom never lets me sit in the front either. Partly because I used to get carsick in the front seat and partly because the airbag will kill me. Your My Margret knows what she’s talking about. I’m happy your ear and bug nibble are on the road to recovery.

    Love and licks,

    • Thanks Cupcake! I’m glad your mom doesn’t let you sit in the front seat either. I guess moms do know best. “sigh” ~nose nudges Belle Pup

  3. I used to be allowed to ride shotgun, but then my mom learned it wasn’t safe, so now I have to sit in the back. It’s OK – it’s like I’m in a limo and have my own driver.
Your Greg sounds very understanding – and so does your vet! And remember – Your Margaret only took you there so you could get better!
    Yours sincerely,
    Margaret Thatcher

    • Ooh Maggie, I mean Mrs. Thatcher, a limo AND a personal driver…I like that!
My Greg is the best ever so is Dr. Bols. You’re right about My Margret. Even though she didn’t do what I wanted her to do I love her and later that day I cuddled with her for a kinda long time. ~nose nudges Belle Pup
