I just got off of the phone with our vet office. Lucy is doing “fantastic” she is moving around well, doesn’t have much swelling at the surgical site and doesn’t seem to be in much pain.
She’s not eating very well so they have been giving her fluids and syringe feedings. She is slightly nervous so they are moving her to a quieter part of the hospital. I’m to call tomorrow morning at 9:00 and if all is well we can bring her home.
Tonight we are shopping for the things that will make the dog crates comfy and fit for a Lucy Kitty. We have quite a job ahead of us with the rest of her recovery and helping Lucy become at ease with being up in the main part of the house with us. I believe that is going to be our biggest challenge. ~ Margret
Very glad to hear she is doing so well. Lucy will probably start eating once she gets home. Wondering if you have a room she could call her own, and if that makes sense.
It does make sense and we do. Greg and I are going to figure out tonight the best way to handle things. Eventually she’s going to need to be in the living room and not off by herself in order to get used to being with us, Linus and the pups. But we haven’t figured out if we should wait or start her out that way. It’s going to be hard no matter how we do it. Our main focus of course is her safety and well being. ~ Margret
Great news but of course the journey is far from over! Best wishes to sort this out so everyone can co-exist!

Thanks Guys, we appreciate it. Yep, I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a long slow journey. ~ Margret
Great update, M. I’m happy Lucy is doing well. I’m sure she will feel better when she gets home sweet home. Just keep putting one foot (and paw) in front of the other and her recovery will be complete before you know it.
Love and licks and prayers and happy, healing thoughts,
Cupcake
