I’m Sad and My Sisters are Confused

I’m sad, well actually I’m pouty. The drops haven’t made my ears any better.

I do though like the cheese I get after my drops. Can you believe it, I get one slice of cheese per ear!

My sisters have been “helping” by licking my ears every chance they get. Every time they do My Margret and My Greg have told them “leave it!” followed by “good girl” . They are starting to think they have new names!

To keep the licking to a min min um minimum I’ve been staying in the house while they get to go outside.  I really, really, really want to be outside with them. Sigh.

My Greg called my vet and I’m getting some different medicine to go with the drops. WAIT! Do you think that means I get cheese AND hot dogs?!?!

    • Thank you Boys, I’ll tell My Margret what you said. She’ll listen to you. ~ nose nudges Bessie

  1. I’m pretty sure ear licking doesn’t help, so it’s just as well you’re in the house when your sisters are outside. Hot dogs sound flat out too good to be true. With or without new medicine, I thinks cheese and hotdogs are the best medicine – by a mile. Get well soon, sweetie!

    Love and licks,

    • Hi Cupcake, thank you, I suppose you’re right, I just miss being outside with them. Hot dogs and cheese are the best medicine ever! ~nose nudges Bessie

    • Hi Penny and Charlie! Trust me you do not want an ear thingy. I’ll have My Margret talk to Mrs. Joye and suggest that hot dogs get put on your treat list. ~ nose nudges Bessie

  2. I used to board a toy poodle and her son, who was even tinier than her. The mama always got ear infections until she had her little boy, who licked inside her ears every day, even after he was all grown up. Just sayin’. Oh, and remember the apple cider vinegar and water. 🙂 That would be real safe (even healthy) for the other girls to lick.

    • Amy,
You’ve given me a lot to think about. Part of the issue with Bessie’s ear is that because of the ear infection she had scratched at it causing a welt, the main concern is when her sisters lick her ear where the welt is that it adds bacteria and has the potential to become infected it’s come close but we’re gaining on it. We’ve dealt with so many hot spots , licking and trapped bacteria that it’s made me very watchful.
I will be trying the apple cider vinegar and water.
I wonder why the mama poodle didn’t get any more ear infections. Was her puppy keeping her ears cleaned out?

      • I have had a lot to think about myself since I lost Lexi the way I did. That’s what got me started questioning the approved ways of doing everything and researching food, vacs, etc. I do believe that as close as natural for both animal and person is best. Re: the poodle, it definitely was tied to her offspring cleaning out her ears every day, but I don’t know the exact mechanics of it.

  3. oh no!! Im so sorry to hear the ear drops are not working! So nice of your sisters to try and help heal your ears…I guess the humans don’t appreciate the help!!! I hope you get some pretty good treats with all this medication!!!

    • Hi Mia! My sisters are good to help out like that. Oh and the hotdogs make the cheese taste even better! ~nose nudges Bessie
