Saturday

On Saturday my Margret started rearranging the furniture in the living room. I decided that she needed a supervisor so I came up from the basement to give her my expert advice in moving the couch, trunk and cedar chest.

While we were working on this my Margret became side tracked (which happens quite often I’m sad to say) and started looking at the pictures she keeps in the cedar chest. That’s when she found a picture of me taken 15 years ago when I was a kitten, right before I convinced them to let me move into the house where I rightfully belong. Scan

My sisters and I came in from being outside Saturday afternoon and ran into the living room like we always do to make sure things are the same as they were when we went out and they WEREN’T! The big couch that I lay on to look out the window was GONE!   The little couch where my Margret and I sit together was where my Greg’s big chair is and his big chair is clear across the room!  My Margret and my Greg spent a lot of time yesterday helping us get used to the changes but I don’t like it, I mean I don’t even know where to sit now. The only thing I like is that when I dropped my tennis ball under the little couch it keeps on rolling and doesn’t get lost. img_2594

All I care about is if there is still room for me on my Margret’s lap. IMG_2674.JPG

So like I think it’s fine, we have lots more room to roughhouse plus we have some snazzy new beds. We do need to figure out how to sit with my Margret in her recliner, when Bess and I try to jump up in the chair the foot thingy goes down and we slide off…but we’re smart we’ll figure it out.

I’m soooo excited, we have a window!!!! IMG_2713.JPGDo you know I can see and hear the same stuff from the living room that I can see when I run outside to our pup pen, the very same stuff! This morning though I got all mixed up, usually if I see something from inside that I want to see better I bark and my Margret or my Greg will let me outside then I ramp the steps and out I go to save the day.  But this morning I was out and barked to be let in because I knew I could see it better from the living room window but when I came bouncing in I ran a few steps toward the living room then ran back to the pup door then back to the living room and back yet again to the pup pen. While I was trying to make up my mind my Margret petted me and said “Bess you just don’t quite know what to think do you, pretty girl.” ( I like when she calls me that!) that helped me to calm down a bit so I could make up my mind…outside it is!

Practice Makes Perfect

Now that I’ve found my tennis ball I’ve been working on my squeaking  technique…a lot.img_2707-1

I’m getting quite good if I say so myself. Although my sister Bonnie might not agree.
But I always say if you’re going to be any good you have to practice.

Visit From Friends

Bonnie

Bonnie

Mrs. Carolyn and Mr. Pastor are friends of ours and came to visit us last night.  Mrs. Carolyn always reads our blog and makes really nice comments that make us feel good.

We were happy to see them but we needed to be really careful as Mrs. Carolyn has a back owie that hurts a lot.  So my Margret and my Greg made sure we didn’t bump into her.  While Bess and Belle made the rounds to see everyone,  I wanted to stay by Mrs. Carolyn.  She does a real good job petting, I mean she’s so good she could give petting lessons.   I just sat quietly (well mostly) by her all evening.  She tried to stop a few times but I just looked at her and convinced her to keep petting me.

Our family is praying that all goes well with Mrs. Carolyn’s surgery in a couple of weeks, that she recovers quickly and comes back soon so she can pet me some more.

The Waker Upper Pup

You know I’ve learned a lot over the past few months.

I’ve learned that we don’t have middle of the night time parties unless it’s loud outside.

I’ve learned that weekends mean I let my Margret sleep later, at least until 6:00am.

I’ve learned that when my Margret throws the blanket over her head and says “It’s still night time Bess.” even though it’s light outside, I’m supposed to go back to sleep.

I’ve also learned that when the box thing by my Margret and my Greg’s pillows makes noise it’s time to get up!

So this morning when that box made it’s noise and my Margret threw the blanket over her head I did the only thing a waker upper pup can do, I pulled the blanket off of her head. It worked! I’ve never done that before and she started laughing and said “Bess, is it time to get up?”

So now I know how to get my Margret out of bed. Do you think that might work in the middle of the night too?

Rats! Foiled Again!

You all know that I’m the “gotta go” chime ringer around here. I ring it when Bess wants to go outside. I ring it when Belle or Bess want to come back inside.  I also ring it when I want to distract my Margret and my Greg so I can see if they have anything good on their plates during supper time.

So the other day I discovered this awesome treat that’s on top of the washing machine, but that’s not a problem for me, I just stand up on my back legs and can reach it just fine thank you very much. Well anyway most of you know that Linus Kitty is the 4th Golden Retriever in this house and the yummy treats belong to him but because it’s his he doesn’t like to share, I mean come on you would think it was his supper or something.

So I thought of this awesome idea, Linus always comes running when I ring the “gotta go” chime because  he wants to go outside, my Margret won’t let him because he is an indoors kitty. But he keeps trying, in fact he’s been known to ring the chime and sit by the door in hopes that she’ll forget and let him out.

Ok so anyway…last night during supper I rang the chime and Linus runs over to the door leaving his food bowl as I was quietly walking over to the washing machine, my Margret asks me what I’m doing. I stood perfectly still and said “Me? I’m not doing anything”. Then she started to laugh and said “Bonnie, that’s Linus’s supper not yours.”  I couldn’t figure out how she knew what I was going to do, then I heard her tell Greg that she watched my eyes and while I didn’t move a muscle my eyes moved and looked up at Linus’s supper.

My Tennis Ball!

I’m so excited! My Margret was cleaning and found our tennis balls under the couch. As you may remember I have a hard time getting the tennis ball to squeak while my sister Bonnie is a show off and squeaks it non stop. But today I tried really hard and as the video proves I can squeak it almost as good as Bonnie can.

I  am so happy to have my tennis ball back.

I also love to play catch and took the ball to my Margret so she would throw it for me.

I’m going to keep my tennis ball close so it doesn’t get lost again.

What Does Savor Mean?

FullSizeRender5

My Margret and Greg brought us home a yummy treat the other night.

IMG_2523

I was sooo excited to try it I could hardly sit still and gulped it down whole. Then I looked at my sisters and saw that they were laying down and were still eating theirs. I looked up at my Margret (because she explains things to me) and she said ” Oh Bessie, these are to be eaten slowly and savored, like a thin mint cookie with a cup of coffee.

She then gave me another one so I could “savor” it, and this time I took my time and ate it in two bites instead of one.

I don’t know what a thin mint cookie is and I’m still not sure what savor means, but I think it means that I get more than my sisters!

New Stuffies

Tonight our Margret and Greg brought us home new stuffies.

Before we get them my Margret de-squeakers them because if she doesn’t we will! She says she’s done too many mouth sweeps to let us do it anymore.

But it’s hard to be patient. No matter how hard we try we can’t hurry her up.

Finally!
Bess and Bonnie like to play tug.

I just like to chew on them to see if I can find a forgotten squeaker! I haven’t yet but maybe someday!

I just want to play

Tonight my Margret heard me whining and came to see what was wrong. She found me doing this.

Then she opened up the bathroom door and saw this.

While she was trying to stop laughing so she could tell my Greg what going on, I took matters into my own paws and got my big sister Bonnie to open the door for me.

She and Linus just looked at each other. When  Bonnie went back out to the living room I dug deep and found enough courage to open the door a bit more all by myself.

I asked him really nice but Linus didn’t want to come out and play he just wanted to stay put and purr.     *Sigh*

Stay Out Of The Wayers

My Margret told us a little while ago that company’s coming tonight, and tomorrow and on Sunday. And she’s getting ready for them.

So my sisters and I are helping the best way we know how.

Linus on the other hand says he’s helping.

But we know he’s being “the in the way kitty” cuz he just can’t help it.
